Sapphire Shell — Long Kaftan

Shells, urchins, plumes and small sea creatures in cream and antique gold, adrift on the deepest sapphire. The drawing is antiquarian — closer to an eighteenth-century cabinet of curiosities than to anything tropical — and the gold against that blue does most of the work. The richest colour in the collection and the most formal of the marine prints.

Long Kaftan — Cut full and fluid to just above the ankle — a maxi-length dress, with deep kimono sleeves and an unstructured line that skims rather than clings. Over a swimsuit at noon; with a heel and a gold cuff after dark.

Mini — Falls to mid-thigh — a dress in its own right, with soft kimono sleeves and a relaxed, unstructured line. Wear it alone, belted or loose, or layer it over trousers, denim, or a slip skirt for a longer look.

Top — The shortest of the three, hitting at the top of the thigh, just below the waist, with a wide boat neck and fluid kimono sleeves. Sharpest over something high-waisted — wide-leg trousers, a column skirt, good denim.

Printed on mulberry silk. One size, generously cut. Cool hand wash or dry clean.
